Every occupation must be prepared for any potential emergency, whether it is a crisis to be managed, business relocation and continuation or business interruption.
Standards require an operation to be free of recognized hazards. You must have the required emergency equipment including: internal communication, summoning equipment, fire and spill devices, and water at adequate volume and pressure. The is equipment must be tested and maintained so that it will function properly.
Employees must have access to communication equipment and adequate aisle space with unobstructed movement of the equipment and employees.
You may have to make arrangements with the police, fire, emergency medical technicians, and hospitals prior to an emergency occurring and compiling a facility layout with: facility hazards, and evacuation routes and a documented primary authority-in-charge prior to outside agency arrival on-site.
You are required to outline actions for facility personnel related releases or events like weather, biohazards, security breaches, crisis, hazardous materials incidence or fleet accidents.
